Profile image of Nicholas B. DaddazioDaddazio`s subject and sculptural niche since 1992 has been and continues to be necktie sculpture (Contemporary Urban Primitive Art) in both bronze and mixed-media. Sculpture description:
The title of Tiecoon is a play on words and this sculpture is a tribute to the self-made millionaire. The necktie is configured into a raccoon, a highly intelligent and clever animal, and the title references a human who has raised himself/herself up from the bottom to be extremely successful. This sculpture stands alone, by itself without a base.
Artist's comments:
The plaster maquettes are examples of how various bronze necktie sculptures were initially modeled. First, a wire/steel armature was constructed, then plaster was applied over the armature to build the maquette. Eventually, a rubber mold was made of the finished maquette, followed with the Lost Wax Method of casting.

"All my life as an artist I have asked myself: What pushes me continually to make sculpture? I have found the answer. art is an action against death. It is a denial of death. "

The sculptures (Fiddleheads Male and Female) arrived this morning and look fantastic. If you could pass on my thanks to the artist (Oliver Strong), I would be most grateful. Many thanks for your assistance,
