Profile image of Christine FoxChristine Fox created abstract sculpture in stainless steel and other materials. She trained at Winchester School of Art and got her first commission when she was in the first year of the degree course there. Since then, her work has been in great demand for commissions. She was also invited to exhibit widely and her sculptures have been bought for collections all over the UK. Her last work was exploring aspects of time, and change over time. The flowing forms of the steel reflect the ebb and flow of nature as well as life, and although there i...

"The problem of contemporary sculpture and the garden is one which has rankled in my mind for years. It is usually resolved through a process of inversion-that is turning it into sculpture in the garden as against garden sculpture. By that I mean the sculptor takes over the garden as an open exhibition gallery, of which the focus is their creation, to which the world of nature merely provides the frame. The Idea that sculpture is a contributory element to an overall'mise en scene',in which, sometimes its role may be incedental rather than central, has been lost.In this we have seen the betrayall of the great tradition of garden sculpture, one which was unashamed at being decorative or delightful."

Customer comment on 'Running Hare (Small bronze spring Mad March statuettes/sculptures)' by Lucy Kinsella
Thank you again for your wonderful and professional assistance throughout. I am so enjoying my "Running Hare"....I call her Lucy. I received a lovely email from Lucy (Lucy Kinsella the Sculptress) earlier this week and the Running Hare (www.artparks.co.uk/s1104) is now safely in my possession. As I told Lucy, the piece is more beautiful and delicate than I had been expecting. She is very special.. Thank you so much for the part you played in bringing us to gather. A... [Read more]
