He then went to Paris to study painting at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere and Academie Julienne and etching and engraving at S.W. Hayter`s Atelier 17. Primarily absorbed by the human figure, he is not so concerned with naturalistic interpretation but rather with truth to materials used.
