Profile image of Régis ChaperonFrench sculptor Regis Chaperon has a background in stone masonry, with a professional career that goes back to when he started an apprenticeship at 17 years of age with the well-known French school of stonemasonry, "Les Compagnons du Devoir". Regis` natural sensitivity for form and artistic flair led him to Carrara and later to the University of Valencia, Spain where he became involved in contemporary concepts of art.

Although it seemed a daunting project to commission a sculpture on the internet with a tight deadline, Plamen Dimitrov in Bulgaria made it as easy as possible for me in Brazil by producing a series of little clay sketches after each email and sending photos it seemed by return.
