Sculpture description:
Bronze horse head taken from an original oak woodcarving. The wood was torn from an oak tree during a violent storm.This sculpture cast in bronze from a hand carving by Robert Koening whose particular skill with wood is very evedent here. See also his other Horse head sculpture.. Equus V And his figurative wooden statues or casts from wooden originals... Cephus, Charred Man, Crouching Man, Dark Lady etc.

A study of the head of a horse made during the making of a public sculpture commission for a roundabout in Ashford in Kent in 2002.
