Sculpture: 'Autum II (Carved stone Large abstract Leaf garden/yard statuary statue)' by Mark Stonestreet
Stone Carved Abstract Large Stylised Autumn Tree Leaf sculptures, or Big Stone Carved semi Abstract Fallen Leaf Statues or statuary for Sale. This carving was an evolution of a former study inspired by traditional decorative carving, taken to a monumental scale and utilising different stones to produce a sculpture that plays on weight of form as well as exaggerating the line given in the main `leaf` section of the work. Another of Mar Stone Street Highly Individual Works of Art.
I decided to take the theme Autum to the next level both in scale and in material, utilising polished granite for the leaf form, and playing with the idea of weight buy placing it on a bath lime stone base with an organic finish, the base is cut to resemble paving, to add an reference to not only the materials used but to the natural enviroment it would be eventually placed.
