Profile image of Karen WilliamsKaren started making her unique sculptures in 2004.Making people smile and playing with their imagination is the driving force behind her sculptures. Rather than creating an accurate representation Karen observes the spirit and character of the subject with a touch of humour, deliberately leaving out detail to be filled in by the viewer.
Karen`s sculptures are different from what most people think of as traditional outdoor sculpture. She works with wire and a variety of recycled material, including old jeans, t-shirts, curtains etc which she...

Sculpture description:
Blade is a charmingly handsome standing figure of a male pixie. He is wearing an incredibally detailed jumper, shorts.hat and huge pointy shoes.Blade is made from recycled materials and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Artist's comments:
Blade has eaten one too many pies and has a charmingly round tummy - with fantastic knobbly knees peeking out from his shorts. He has great huge clunky curly shoes and a quirky pointed hat.
Blades jumper was made from an old sock, and his shorts from an old pair of jeans. The material is impregnated with a special established tried and tested resin that amalgamates and fortifies the material, which when it dries strengthens and hardens the sculpture making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use all year round.

Customer comment on 'Running Hare (Small bronze spring Mad March statuettes/sculptures)' by Lucy Kinsella
Thank you again for your wonderful and professional assistance throughout. I am so enjoying my "Running Hare"....I call her Lucy. I received a lovely email from Lucy (Lucy Kinsella the Sculptress) earlier this week and the Running Hare (www.artparks.co.uk/s1104) is now safely in my possession. As I told Lucy, the piece is more beautiful and delicate than I had been expecting. She is very special..

Thank you so much for the part you played in bringing us t... [Read more]
