After initially studying fine art, Pete Sherrard spent twenty years working as a photographer before traveling around the world and working with primates in various animal sanctuaries. Then, in 2007, he decided that he wanted to make a return to his artistic roots, so completed an arts diploma, graduating 2009 as a sculptor. Working in clay and plasticine then casting in resins mixed with various media from wood ash to rice, Sherrard produces figurative pieces that explore and question the basic, raw animal nature of people.

Dear Peter, Enclosed is photo of my lovely fox, placed into an area which I`m developing as a small bluebell and white birch woodland. I`m absolutely delighted with the sculpture! Would you please pass a copy on to Tessa (Hayward), with my thanks and very best wishes. Jenny
