Sculpture description:
Superb Hand Carved Stone Panel of Fabric Drapery in Caen Stone for Outdoors Outside in the Garden statue for Commission A Unique study in stone of a Towel arranged over a board. by the Brilliant Anna Rubincam, whose Skill with carving that most difficult of subjects Fabric, Drapery or Flimsy Cloth Material is well known.
Artist's comments:
I designed this study in order to become familiar with the anatomy of drapery. The shapes of the folds vary little from a simply study to a more complex arrangement, and many sculptors attempt similar studies in preparation for larger projects. It shows the effect of gravity on the cloth, as well as the interaction between the surface and the lower folds.

I received a lovely email from Lucy (Lucy Kinsella the Sculptress) earlier this week and the Running Hare (www.artparks.co.uk/s1104) is now safely in my possession. As I told Lucy, the piece is more beautiful and delicate than I had been expecting. She is very special..

Thank you so much for the part you played in bringing us t... [Read more]
