Sculpture description:
Bronze Abstract Small Woman or Female sculptures or statues or ornaments or figurines or statuettes by Ann Seifert who carved the original ?Passages? sculpture from a beautiful piece of stone in 2004. The first bronze was produced in 2005 using a mold made from the original stone sculpture. This piece is an abstract design, symbolic of a woman?s spiritual passage through life. The Sculptor was moved to create this sculpture in honor of her good friend and dear soul, Trudy Anne DeGroat, who passed away in 2003. She studied massage and used her knowledge and healing touch to assist many people. She greeted each patient with her keen intellect, love and caring spirit. She was a strong woman who viewed the world through loving eyes, faced her challenges with faith and courage and was an inspiration to all those who knew and loved her.
Artist's comments:
"The slight movement of a shoulder, up or over, a change in the tilt of a head, an adjustment of the torso, or legs, to accentuate or relieve tension. We are complex emotional creatures and our body language reflects this." Ann Seifert has been sculpting since 1986. She has worked under two mentors: Janet Lederman and Loet Vanderveen, providing her with an education in sculpting technique, perspective, and design spanning more than 20 years. In 1999, after years of work and study, she produced her first limited edition bronze sculpture, "A Moment of Grace", the first of many figurative designs. In 2001 she also introduced a new line of animal sculpture. Her portfolio of animal and figurative sculpture designs continues to grow and her work is on display in collector`s homes around the world. "It is a delightful challenge to sculpt animals in a pose which displays something about their character?a loyal dog, a quiet attentive feline, an elegant swan?the goal being to capture something of their basic nature.".
