John Warland works at the forefront of conceptual garden design to produce thought provoking spaces to engage the viewer. Challenging the traditional concept of modern garden form, he provides us with a stimulus to create classically informed spaces ?with a twist?.
Spencer Jenkins creates beautiful functional sculptures from woven, carved and steamed wood. Each product is individually designed and handcrafted. ?My work evolves from ideas, hints and suggestions I receive from the landscape around me. I enjoy physically transforming the identity...
Woven Willow Withy Archway Unique Commissioned sculpture for Outside outdoors in Public Park or Space by Spencer Jenkins Described by The Times as `Spectacular`, one of the six willow arches, part of an art installation to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen`s 60th coronation anniversary in Windsor, Sold It gives you the Ides of what can be achieved in the hands of an expert..
The concept of triumphant arches is as old as recorded history, a tradition revived by the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society for their patron, Her Majesty The Queen.
The contemporary coronation arch has been designed by RHS gold-medal-winning John Warland and built by master willow artist Spencer Jenkins, both members of the young British cohort of horticulturalists making their impact on the gardening scene. Spencer Jenkins` willow sculptures have previously been sold at Sotheby`s.
The coronation arch was opened in September by Governor and Constable of Windsor Castle Air Marshal Ian Macfadyen OBE and has had great support from gardening-guru Alan Titchmarsh and Hollywood actress Anna Friel who is involved with the Society.
