Artist's comments:
This is a sculpture of Stone of Folca walking out to his paddock after training on the gallops. He is stretching his neck and looking forward to some fresh grass, rest and relaxation. Having made a quarter scale study of the standing horse from life, I wanted to produce a series of sculptures exploring the different paces of the horse. I made films of the horses at the stables and used these films in the studio. In this piece I`m showing the forward momentum of the walk. Although tired after his exercise he was very keen to get out to the grass. I have 2 more quarter scale pieces in progress showing a frisky trot and a gallop at full stretch.

"It is not hard to understand modern art. If it hangs on a wall it's a painting, and if you can walk around it it's a sculpture."

Customer comment on 'Beautiful Nails - Commissioned' by Shaun Gagg
The sculptures arrived in the meantime and on weekend I brought them home to my private house/garden.

They arrived in a perfect condition and when I have opened them I was speechless – Shaun, they look great.

I got the picture from you where I could see them before but in reality they look much more better !!! JJJ

I am really happy – thank you so much that you made them for me.

They will get a perfect place in my garden – ... [Read more]
