Lotte Thuenker is one of the international artists that work in Pietrasanta´s marble sculpture studios. She was born in Bonn, she studied in Berlin – and then worked in – architecture. Her works, sculpted in marble, lime stone and onyx, seem at once light and without gravity – and also as if they are in motion, ultimately finding their equilibrium in a single point. She says she finds her inspiration `in the movement of water, the hulls of boats and in the shipwrecks sanded by the sea, as well as in the four elements, and in the animal and plan...
Abstract black limestone sculpture, abstract black boat sculpture, abstract black bird sculpture, abstract black chicken sculpture, balanced sculpture with small fossiles,
On heavy sea - a compact solid symmetrical sculpture from Belgium black limestone with a main line - a kind of a spine... creating associations with a boot, a fish, a fat bird or a chicken above the water, battling against the elements. A boat, a skiff, driftwood dancing on the surging waves and in the sea spray. Laying on one point, moving and turning, but then finding its balance in eqilibrium. Where the `chicken´ lies in the water, the waves are reflected as highly brilliantly polished areas, contrasting the areas with parallel traces of the diamond blade and the broken parts from the chisel.

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,
to front only the essential facts of life
and see if I could not learn what it had to teach,
and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." Thoreau
Dear Peter (ArtParkS), Plamen (artist) Just today the package with the sculpture ”Forest Fairy” has arrived. Safe, perfectly packed. I must say “Forest Fairy” is really beautiful, great! I like her very much, her hands, her emotional dance, feelings hidden in her body. Thank you for filling my home with beauty. I wish you both a lot of enthusiasm for marvellous work you do.
