Lotte Thuenker is one of the international artists that work in Pietrasanta´s marble sculpture studios. She was born in Bonn, she studied in Berlin – and then worked in – architecture. Her works, sculpted in marble, lime stone and onyx, seem at once light and without gravity – and also as if they are in motion, ultimately finding their equilibrium in a single point. She says she finds her inspiration `in the movement of water, the hulls of boats and in the shipwrecks sanded by the sea, as well as in the four elements, and in the animal and plan...
White Carrara Marble sculpture with the powerful big movement of water, the sea and the waves. Abstract elegant balanced sculture from white Marble
Mumtaz Mahal, the `pearl of the palace` was a name given to Arjumand Banu begum, the wife of the Great Mogul Shah Jahan, the emperor of India. A sculpture from beautiful white Carrara Marble like an elegant slow wave, a soft water movement - laying on one point, moving and turning, but then finding its balance in eqilibrium. Carefully polished parts and precise lines define the pure shape, in the inner hollowed-out space remain some parallel traces of the diamond blade and some broken parts from the chisel.
