Sculpture: 'White Elephant (Small Carved Decorated Elephant statuette carving)' by Duncan Park
Elephant Carved entirely from a block of Portland Stone. Detailing on the elephant is a combination of coloured silver gilding and gold leaf, giving a stunning effect to the overall appearance of the piece. The elephant is mounted on a mahogany base.
This carving is inspired by the elephant festival in Jaipur, India. In celebration of the magnificence of this creature, the elephants are adorned in bright decoration and jewellery. I have represented this in the carving, which gives the sculpture a unique and visually stunning appearance.
