Contemporary Painted Girl`s Torso statue, Mixed Media Colourful Painted Fun Nude Sensual Girl`s Torso Wall hanging statue sculpture Wall decoration Indoors inside Interior by the Successful American Sculptress Christine Palamidessi Who Writes... "Painter" wall sculpture is made using a traditional cartapesta technique that artist learned in Lecce, Southern, Italy. The image is a riff on Romero Britto`s self-portrait (“Myself”) ; artist punched out and interpreted his painting in this 3-D salute.
If only I could make as much money by painting as Romero Britto does! He is a Hero to me, not just because of his success but also because I admire his persistent, challenging and colorful work; work that makes everybody happy. You can’t help but smile when you look at his paintings. Romero, who lives in Miami, is a neo-pop artist who incorporates graffiti, cubism and pop. You might remember seeing his now-famous Absolute Vodka bottles? Or his paintings for BMW? Disney? Coca-Cola?

"The problem of contemporary sculpture and the garden is one which has rankled in my mind for years. It is usually resolved through a process of inversion-that is turning it into sculpture in the garden as against garden sculpture. By that I mean the sculptor takes over the garden as an open exhibition gallery, of which the focus is their creation, to which the world of nature merely provides the frame. The Idea that sculpture is a contributory element to an overall'mise en scene',in which, sometimes its role may be incedental rather than central, has been lost.In this we have seen the betrayall of the great tradition of garden sculpture, one which was unashamed at being decorative or delightful."
