Artist and Author,, Christine Palamidessi’s work is inspired by Mediterranean history and geography. Her preferred material is paper, which she folds, paints and molds. Hardening agents are applied to the sculptures. It is a technique, called cartapesta, that she learned and continues to study in Lecce, Italy.

Although it seemed a daunting project to commission a sculpture on the internet with a tight deadline, Plamen Dimitrov in Bulgaria made it as easy as possible for me in Brazil by producing a series of little clay sketches after each email and sending photos it seemed by return.
