Profile image of Francois ViljoenFrancois Viljoen is a South African born artist, now lives in the south west part of Baden Württemberg, Germany. In many ways arts influenced and marked his life from the start. He was in a only Academic+Sport school with no art classes, This was quite frustrating, but then the creative process, esp. drawing, became a passion and big interest in his teenage years, following a long, weekly TV series called, "Quest for Romanticism". He then started to draw, more and more. "It was like finding my call in life and meaning... Like bringing order to...

Sculpture description:
Small Bronze Spider Monkey&Bowl statue for sale for Indoors by the Naturalist sculptor François Viljoen, who writes....
" Spider-monkey species are listed as "Endangered" by either USESA or IUCN. Found in tropical rain forests of Central, South America and Mexico. Weighs 5 to 9kg and can move through trees as fast as a human can run. It has no thumb, but with a very interesting tail that works like a fifth arm making it a super acrobat.
Motif: "See, Hear and Speak no evil". Witticism/Idiom originally came from idea of "The three wise monkeys" over the Tosho-gu shrine in Nikko, Japan with various meanings including associations with being of good mind, speech and action. In the Western world the phrase is often used to refer to a lack of moral responsibility on the part of people who refuse to acknowledge impropriety. Or "looking the other way".

Customer comment on 'Brasil - Chess (Corporate Commission of an entire edition)' by Plamen Dimitrov
Although it seemed a daunting project to commission a sculpture on the internet with a tight deadline, Plamen Dimitrov in Bulgaria made it as easy as possible for me in Brazil by producing a series of little clay sketches after each email and sending photos it seemed by return. He worked round the clock and was incredibly intuitive with his understanding of what I wanted. This was despite an 8 hour time difference and having poor English as our common language. He w...
