Sculpture description:
A Wounded Confederate Cavalryman from the American Civil War uses his horse in an attempt to struggle to his feet.Limited edition Bronze Detailed Award Winning statuette or sculpture by the Meticulous International Sculptress Kathleen Friedenberg, who writes... "A soldier`s horse was his constant companion and staunchest ally. Here his mount gently gives him physical and psychological support."
Artist's comments:
This piece was sculpted for a Civil War show in Kentucky, and required a good deal of research. It paid off and "The Bond" won an award. The rationale behind showing a rebel fighter was that the Union cavalry were mounted on horses provided by the service. Those in Confederate ranks usually provided their own horses, which would, therefore probably have been of finer quality
