Profile image of Sandra BorgesSandra later work is a result form her reflection about human relations. Sometimes looking through the stereotypes and sometimes through the eyes of a individual, it is always about how one personality is form and how one relates to the other and to other in society.
Working only with Portuguese stone (marbles, limestone`s and breccia), she also mix it with other media if the idea demands it. The result is very personal way to make art objects that link the tradition of stone carving with other materials and plastic languages.

Sculpture description:
Installation of two ceramic heads, facing each other, screaming. From the mouths comes out nails on on one side and screws from the other. Although both perform the same function, the nail is different from the screw and so one can argue that one is better than the other. The same thing can be said about human communication: how often do one find him self in a argument that both side are saying the same thing but using different forms?
Artist's comments:
Inspired on the work of franco-belgian and south american cartoon authors, this piece belongs to a series that tries to bring to sculpture the idea that "one image equals 1000 words". By choosing the human nature as subject matter, the identification is immediate but still open to a infinite possibilities of interpretation, depending on the viewer. This is brought to focus by the choice of modeling in ceramic just the vital elements to depict a emotion - eyes, nose and mouth - the rest would just be noise.
