Description: Modern Abstract Contemporary Mixed media sculpture statue for Commission for Outside Outdoors Exterior decoration by Deedee Morrison who writes.... Contrasts that are not contradictory, but rather complementary are especially intriguing to artist.? Symbols, such as unevenly balanced objects joined by chains, causes viewers to inwardly ask the question, "What am I bound to?" Long forgotten or recent memories are the tethers that bind us and are a significant component of who we are. The varied and dynamic events, places, people, and things that have touched us inform our future choices, commitments, habits, and journeys. The 8? x 8? aluminum incorporates a limestone rock as its anchor. The aluminum panels have been laser cut and welded together to create charms pendants for the rock. Clear Lexan is riveted to the structure under the intricately patterned cut outs and painted from the inside to achieve radiant colors. An interior light illuminates the sculpture at night.

Description: Large ANGULAR Modern Abstract Interaction Contemporary STATUE SCULPTURE FOR SALE for Outside in the Urban Landscape by the Bold American Sculptress Deedee Morrison who writes... " " May Charms was installed in July for the Midwest Sculpture Initiative Exhibition. The sculpture is dramatically placed in Canton main shopping district, an area that receives heavy pedestrian traffic, allowing viewers to interact and engage with the sculpture. In works such as May Charms, a sculpture with a strong angular shape and intricately cutout overlays, it is easy to define the theme of Morrisonʼs work contrasts. Speaking to the dualities of mechanical and organic, masculine and feminine, light and dark, strength and weakness, this particular artwork gives a sensation of diverging ideas bound by dissimilarity ? an idea rampant in many of Morrisonʼs sculptures.

"Blue Charm is four ton limestone rock and aluminum sculpture, that is the most recent addition to the grounds of the IMA Sculpture Park in Roche Harbor. Deedee Morrison`s Charm series is a body of work that has strong angular shapes and intricately cutout overlays. Blue Charm speaks to the contrasting dualities of the mechanical and organic, masculine and feminine, light and dark, strength and weakness found in life and in nature. These particular sculptures give a sensation of diverging ideas bound by dissimilarity and yet the charms seem to rest alongside each other in harmony. The creation of theCharms begins with a limestone rock that has been harvested from the quarry where Morrison works. As with much of her work, the sculptor uses a laser cutting processes with the metal that introduces light and a sense weightlessness into the work. Charm focuses on the correlation of contrasts - two very different elements that are inter-related and combined to create equilibrium. Symbols, such as unevenly balanced objects joined ask the question, "What am I bound to?" Morrison works with this quality of extreme contrasts through the creation of bulky sculptures made of metal and boulders that are intricately balanced with hand wrought chains to create a sense of the weight of fragility and balance.
'Seed Pod (Corporate Commission Kinetic Large Public Art statue sculpture)' by Deedee Morrison
Description: Massive Contemporary Abstract Modern Corporate Public mixed media sculptur statue by the Impressive American sculptress Deedee Morrison who writes.... "Eighty-four aluminum and colored Lucite panels were laser cut and re-fabricated to create the intriguing Seed-Pod solar sculpture. The Seed-Pod design was inspired by studying organic forms and the geometric principles that determine their patterns and structures. Alabama artist Deedee Morrison created the 8-by-12 work of art with inspiration from organic forms, particularly the drawings of Ernst Haeckel, a contemporary of Charles Darwin who was also an artist, biologist, naturalist, philosopher, physician and professor who discovered, described, named and illustrated thousands of new species. Morrison attempts to imitate the design principles that exist in the world to create sustainable solutions with art, by mimicking the strategies found in nature. ?Solar sculptures in the right environment are extremely effective ways to demonstrate how solar energy works and can become an icon of sustainability for a city.? States the artist, Deedee Morrison. The solar- powered sculpture resides near the wetlands in Renaissance Park and artistically demonstrates how solar power works by illuminating laser-cut sheets of metal designed to replicate a seed pod coming out of a dormant state to form new life. Seed-Pod is a visual display of the power and energy thatʼs available every day from a single solar panelʼs relationship with the sun. The color scheme of the Seed-Pod sculpture mirrors the vibrant yellow hues of the sun. Near the Seed-Pod sculpture is the 18ft. solar tower that, like plants, collects and stores the energy released from the sun. The Seed-Pod and the solar tower are intimately connected in the phenomena of life and growth. The solar tower captures the energy of the sun during the day and the Seed-Pod emits the dramatic stored light at night, giving the sculpture itʼs added dimension.

This relationship is so subtle and discreet it can almost be missed entirely. but there is always a still whisper between the two.
